Centenary Students Give Back With Community Service

Among many other service projects this year, Centenary University students helped on a build site with Warren County Habitat for Humanity. Photo provided by Centenary University.

Nearly 300 Centenary students took part in community service activities during the Fall 2020 semester. While the university’s organizations offered a host of more traditional in-person service opportunities—from a Habitat for Humanity build, a river cleanup, and voter registration drives to collecting donations of food, coats, toiletries, shoes, and clothing—virtual options offered new ways to serve others, including sending thank you cards to veterans and first responders, participating in pre-Election Day text banking and a postcard campaign to get out the vote, and supporting local teachers and parents with homeschooling through virtual story times, educational materials, and a mentorship program. Photos include shoe and food collections, as well as a letter-writing campaign for veterans.
