Free Rutherfurd Lecture: What’s in a Name?

Rutherfurd Hall will be hosting a free lecture on Wednesday, Oct. 24, about Rutherfurd Stuyvesant, New York real estate developer, philanthropist, country squire, and socialite. The older brother of original Rutherfurd Hall owner Winthrop Rutherfurd, Stuyvesant’s ties to Warren and Sussex Counties are as strong as the rest of the Rutherfurd family, in spite of a name change. Learn about the former owner of Tranquility Farms at one of two free lectures (each lecture will be identical) led by Rutherfurd Hall historian Joan Salvas. The lectures will be held at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Oct. 24. Reservations are not required. This free event is supported by the Warren County Historical Society. Refreshments are included courtesy of the Friends of Rutherfurd Hall. Rutherfurd Hall is located at 1686 Route 517 in Allamuchy.
