Hackettstown’s Hometown Holiday Friday!

Hometown Holiday sponsored by the Hackettstown Business Improvement District will run on Friday, Dec. 2, and also includes other weekend activities.

On Friday evening there will be carriage rides starting at the side of the fire house.

The Hackettstown Historical Society Open House, with refreshments, will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at their headquarters, 106 Church Street.

From 5 to 5:30 p.m. the Hackettstown Middle School Tiger Tues and HackettsTONES will play at the gazebo.

The Grand illumination of the Seay Building at Centenary University will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., featuring music and treats.

Also at 5:30 p.m., the Hackettstown High School Chorale Select Ensemble will perform at the gazebo.

From 6 to 9 p.m., the Holiday Bazaar Food and Shopping Tent will be open Behind Stella G’s on Main and Moore Streets. Faith Center for the Arts A Capella Choir will perform in the tent from 6 to 7 p.m.

From 6:15 to 7 p.m., the Hackettstown Community Band will perform at 193 Main Street.

From 6:30 to 7 p.m., the Colonial Musketeers Senior Corps will perform at Berk’s Outlet Store.

The Santa Parade will be from 7 to 7:30 p.m. on Main Street from Plane Street to Moore Street and the tree lighting at the gazebo will be at 7:30 p.m.

The Kiwanis/Key Club Santa Selfie Station will be set up from 7:45 to 9 p.m. serving hot chocolate and cookies.

The Hackettstown High School Band will play on Moore Street near Stella G’s from 7:45 to 8:15 p.m. Also during that time, the Colonial Musketeers Junior Corps will play at the gazebo.

The evening’s performance of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella will start at 8 p.m. at the Lackland Center.

From 8:30 to 9 p.m., the Strand String Ensemble will play under the Strand marquee on Main Street.

Sponsors of the event are: John Johnson Automotive Group, Bright Smiles 4 Kids, Quick Chek, House of the Good Shepherd, Stuber Insurance, Maguire Scala Memorial Home, WRNJ, Mars Wrigley, Centenary and Fulton Bank as well as Hackettown’s recreation, fire and police departments and board of education.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, the Selfies with Santa Shop Small Celebration will be in the Holiday Bazaar Tent behind Stella G’s. It will include free selfies with Santa for families, including pets; free crafts, face painting by Jese, and a hot cocoa bar by Greene’s Beans. The Brass Roots will present live music under the tent from noon to 2 p.m.

Strolling through town will be Kudos Barbershop Quartet from 1 to 3 p.m. and the Hackettstown Community Band from 2 to 4 p.m.
