Hall Of Fame Pair Offer Seniors Something Special

Truth be told senior citizens in the Greater Warren County area have a pair of angels in Anne Grogan and Tracy Fazzolari Carroll. Between the two of them they have helped arguably thousands and thousands of seniors one way or another, personally or through various organizations and businesses they have worked with over the years.

Grogan and Fazzolari Carroll (pictured above), along with four other individuals who have proven through numerous accomplishments in their respective professional and personal careers, will be inducted into the Warren County Hall of Fame on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Hawk Pointe Golf Club in Washington Township.

In addition to Grogan and Fazzolaro Carroll, the inductees are former freeholder Edward Smith; John Johnson, businessman, and youth sports volunteer Melville Kries, Sr. Maximillian Spann, Sr. will also be honored posthumously. Spann was a real estate professional and supporter of services for populations with developmental disabilities.

When inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Nov. 16 gala event, which includes entertainment and a silent auction, these outstanding individuals will join an elite group, which includes Marian Bredin, Dr. Marc Abo, Dr. James Goodwin, Norman Worth, Terrance “Terry” Lee, Garabed ”Chuck” Haytaian, Norman Beatty, Christopher Maier, Dr. Barbara-Jayne Lewthwaite, Mattar Mattar, Bruce Schott, Richard Maguire, Therese “Terry” Steinhardt, Ned Bolcar, Col. Clinton Pagano, Frank Van Horn, Douglas Steinhardt, Edward Rossi, Nancy Brown, Helene Meissner, Kathleen Halpin and Sal Simonetti, among others.

For over 30 years Grogan served the Warren County older adults and their families as the Warren Hospital Director of Geriatric Services and the St. Luke’s Network Director for Senior Care. She developed the Center for Positive Aging which included geriatric assessment, caregiver support groups and education, Future Focus Senior membership program, Express Ride Hospital Transportation, physician house calls, and the Comfort Zone Adult Daycare, the first and only adult medical daycare in Warren County.

Grogan also served as the Co-Chair of the hospital’s Bioethics Committee with Dr. Frank Gilly, the first non-physician to be appointed to that position. Together they helped patients, families, physicians, and staff with difficult end of life care decisions. She continues to serve Warren County through APG Eldercare Services. As a private geriatric care manager she helps older adults and caregivers navigate the often daunting elder care maze.

Grogan additionally served on the Board of Trustees for the Phillipsburg Senior Center and was a member of the Phillipsburg Rotary Club. She was appointed a delegate to the 1995 White House Conference on Aging and NJ Governor’s Task Force on Aging.

Fazzolari Carroll’s love of seniors came from her “Granny Irene” who was fiercely independent and remained in her own home until the last days of her life being cared for by family. In 2004 Tracy’s pursuit of work that “makes a difference” led her to the Home Instead Senior Care office in Washington. Within 2 ½ years she became the GM, managing the day to day operations of the franchise that serves Hunterdon and Warren Counties.

In 2007 she formed her corporation, Traci Care, Inc. and purchased the franchise. In the 15 years since, her passionate focus on each Client, their unique care needs, independence, life enrichment, and the collaborative building of vital relationships between her Home Instead Team have helped over 3,700 seniors live a life filled with optimism and hope. Bringing peace of mind to families and reminding them to “breathe”, knowing that Home Instead is “changing the face of aging” for their loved ones is the No. 1 priority. Tracy’s CAREGivers are the lifeblood of her organization and she’s grateful to each of them for the life changing transformations to the seniors’ lives they effect.

She is a Certified Senior Advisor, a Certified Dementia Practitioner and holds a Notary Public commission. Home Instead was honored for being among the top Home Care Agencies in the nation as a “Caring Super Star of 2019”, 2018, 2017 consecutively for Senior Care Excellence by Caring.com earning a 5-star consumer rating.

Her “Be a Santa to a Veteran” and “Be a Santa to a Senior” are yearly seasonal community projects that have brightened the holidays of local seniors since 2004. This program supports those who otherwise might not be remembered at the holiday season.

The Warren County Hall of Fame dinner, presented by the Warren County Community College Foundation, is open to the public.  Tables may be reserved. Proceeds from the event benefit students in need of financial help, as well as special programs at the college.
