Hispanic Heritage, Pigeons On Tap At Waren Library

The Warren County Library celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 15, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a virtual performance by award-winning guitarist Jesse Rivera.

Rivera leads an imaginary trip through music and song as he explores the different beats, rhythms, and music styles of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Spain. Suitable for all ages.

Register for the Zoom links with Suzanne at (908) 818-1280 or swalzer@warrenlib.org.

Kids Can Celebrate Pigeon!

Children ages 3 through 8 will have four chances to attend a party to celebrate Mo Willem’s latest book featuring his avian protagonist, Pigeon.

Parties for “Will Pigeon Ride the Roller Coaster” will be held from Sept. 17 through 27.

The first will be at the Richard D. Gardner Branch on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 11 a.m. to noon; then at the Southwest Branch on Monday, Sept. 19, from 3:30 to 4:30; at the Catherine Dickson Hofman Branch on Thursday, Sept. 22, from 4 to 5 p.m. and finally at the Northeast Branch on Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 4 to 5 p.m.

Because Pigeon and his friend, Duckling, ask for cookies as such parties, cookies will be served to the children. There will also be games.

Registration is required at the appropriate branch.
