Provident Awards Health-Related Grant To Abilities

Provident Bank Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to Abilities of Northwest Jersey, Inc., for nutrition and exercise programs for individuals with disabilities.

“This generous donation will enable Abilities to offer participants who attend our day programs a cooking club and fitness instruction as part of our new Healthy AttainAbility initiative,” said Abilities COO Susan Zukoski. “We greatly appreciate The Provident Bank Foundation’s investment in our exceptional services.”

The club will help individuals who struggle with making healthy food choices to build social interactions with peers in the class while learning together and focusing on exercise, health, nutrition, and cooking. The exercise program will be able to help individuals overcome physical limitations and the lack of accessible environments. Both programs will be provided at all Abilities locations, and to individuals who are served remotely at home.

“We are pleased to help further valuable initiatives put forth by local organizations who are working every day to strengthen the lives of residents in our communities,” said Samantha Plotino, Executive Director, The Provident Bank Foundation. “We will continue to provide support to these important organizations that have identified an immediate need in the community and for the individuals they serve.”
