Hometown Halloween Scares Up Plenty of Winners

Children's costume contest winners were, l-r, Samara Scharf of Stewartsville (mummy), Brantley Schmitt of Washington (John Deere Truck), and Avery Wadle of Washington (angel). Photo by Cathy Miller.

The judges had a hard time choosing winners of the Washington Business Improvement District’s Hometown Halloween contests this year. There were so many great costumes, pumpkins and pets dressed for the occasion!

The Jesters, from Port Murray, were dressed as characters from “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” and were awarded the family prize. Left to right are Gwen, Julie, Louis and Liam. Photo by Cathy Miller.
Charley Jost’s unassuming pet dog, Skyley, dressed as an adorable panda, was the pet costume winner. Photo by Cathy Miller.
Habitat for Humanity (top left) came first in the business pumpkin contest with Kathy’s Kove (top right) and Juanito’s Mexican Restaurant (bottom) also taking prizes. Photos by Cathy Miller.

The WBID thanks everyone for coming out and enjoying Halloween with the businesses of Washington Borough.
