The House of the Good Shepherd is expanding its scope of programs with its residents and the Greater Community, thanks to a new partnership with Fellowship Rehab & Wellness.

“This new endeavor goes beyond just rehab services,” said Sue Lanza, CEO of The House of the Good Shepherd retirement community in Hackettstown. “Fellowship will provide our residents with an array of new programs focusing on wellness and other aspects of senior lifestyle enhancements. They will also be able to augment our community at-large programs. We’re very excited about this partnership and in just a short time we have been getting very good feedback from our residents.”

Fellowship Senior Living is a leader in senior living housing, programs, and services throughout New Jersey providing industry best practices for older adults to enhance their lifestyle. The Rehab and Wellness team receives back office support from HealthPRO Heritage, a national provider of therapy services. Together, it provides The House with a 3-pronged effort to serve its residents best from rehab to education to having access to myriad resources.

“This makes for expansive support on multiple levels,” said Andrew Van Orden, Fellowship’s Rehabilitation & Wellness Director. “Most importantly it gives us the tools to provide the most complete package for the residents of The House.”

At a “Meet & Greet” with the new company recently, residents had the opportunity to ask about programs that they were interested in.

“That’s something we like to do,” said Mark Harpster, the Director of Rehab at The House. “This gives the residents the chance to be part of the program, to have input.”

Fellowship plans on offering an array of monthly “Discovery Series Talks” on topics of interest to seniors, again, with input from residents.

The overall goal, though, is to make sure that all residents are given opportunities of growth.

“No matter what level they are at, we want to make sure they are supported within the community,” said Harpster. “They deserve to age in place in a supportive community.”

The House of the Good Shepherd, situated along the Musconetcong River and minutes from Downtown Hackettstown, offers an array of living arrangements, from skilled nursing to independent living, as well as physical rehab services for residents and the public at-large.
