The Arc of Warren County and The House of The Good Shepherd’s inaugural joint golf classic raised more than $13,000 for the organizations!

More than 100 golfers participated in the fundraiser, which supported The Arc Foundation and The Shepherd’s Fund. The Foundation ensures continued program funding for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Shepherd’s Fund provides financial assistance for residents whose resources have been depleted.

In the past, The Arc and The House held separate golf outings, but they felt that combining the efforts would be of benefit to the organizations, sponsors, and participants.

“As a result of the current climate, we were pleased that we were able to move forward with this opportunity,” said Susan Lanza, CEO of The House of the Good Shepherd.  “We weren’t sure what to expect as far as interest but were fortunate that the event was so well received in the community.  The timing was right and the feedback that we received was extremely positive.”

Norman Worth, Managing Partner and President of WRNJ Radio and board member at The House, acted as emcee. Leslie Schott, The Arc’s board of directors’ president, was also an integral member of the Golf Classic Committee.

“We are thankful to have had the opportunity to work with The House of the Good Shepherd in this significant manner,” says John Whitehead, CEO of The Arc of Warren County.  “It was an extremely positive experience for all involved.  Thank you to the supporters and attendees. It would have not been a success without your involvement and commitment.”

The Second Golf Classic with The Arc of Warren County and The House of the Good Shepherd is scheduled for September 13, 2021.
