Land of Make Believe’s 2nd Annual Chuck Haytaian Memorial Day July 4 Benefits WCCC Scholarships in his Name

Chuck Haytaian

A Warren County Freeholder who was a major proponent of bringing a community college to Warren County continues to bring smiles to students even though he passed away two years ago. Garabed “Chuck” Haytaian lives on with a scholarship in his name.

The scholarship was initiated by the Warren County Community College Foundation two years ago. The scholarship provides financial help to students in need. On July 4, the Land of Make Believe in Hope has announced that a portion of the ticket sales on the 2nd Annual Chuck Haytaian Memorial Day at the park will go toward the scholarship fund.

Haytaian, rightly considered the Father and Founder of the College, was a prominent figure in local and later in New Jersey politics where he ultimately served as the Speaker of the House in Trenton. For many in Warren County, though, it was his efforts to bring post high school education to residents that was deemed a hallmark decision. The college remains one of the top community colleges in the state and is recognized nationally as well.

Additionally, during his lifetime Haytaian was active in many local organizations, including Kiwanis. Most recently Haytaian served on the Warren County Community College Board of Trustees. Several years ago the college library was named in his honor, and he was the first inductee into the Warren County Hall of Fame.

It doesn’t matter if you knew Haytaian personally or not as all visitors to Land of Make Believe on July 4 will essentially be giving to a scholarship fund that will help Warren County Community College students advance their educational pursuits.

Tickets purchased that day, or in advance, will provide funding for the scholarship. For tickets and more about Land of Make Believe visit LOMB.com.
