Land of Make Believe is going to reach new heights when it opens for the season later this year. 

The iconic family amusement park in Hope recently announced that it is adding a 70-foot high Hot Air Balloon ride that will soar high into the sky.

Land of Make Believe, which opens for the season Memorial Day Weekend, has been steadily introducing new rides for the past few years that complement rides for young children with thrill rides for young adults and all family members. The Hot Air Balloon is the latest to fit this category. Scream Machine 360 and Twisting Timbers roller coaster are two others added in recent years. 

“The Hot Air Balloon is a ride that everyone in the family can enjoy,” said Land of Make Believe owner Christopher Maier. “This is a cross-over ride in that anyone in the family, regardless of age, can get excited about.”

For those who have not had the opportunity to experience the thrill of a hot air balloon ride, this ride gives them that chance. 

One thing missing from the new ride is a name! To that end, Land of Make Believe, cited recently as the most iconic amusement park in New Jersey, is looking for help. Visitors can go to the Land of Make Believe’s Facebook page and can post a suggested a name for the new ride. The writer of the winning name will be notified via Facebook and will receive a family 4-pack of tickets for a day at the park. The deadline for entries is May 1, 2022.  

Of course, Land of Make Believe continues to offer plenty of rides for young children and their parents, including classics such as the Ferry wheel. Merry Go-Round, and the Thriller Roller Coaster. And, its award-winning water park once again is ready to get visitors wet with delight.

Earlier this year Land of Make Believe was named one of the most iconic amusement parks in America in a national website alongside Disney World in Florida, Kings Dominion in Virgina, Knotts Berry Farm in California and many other “big name” parks around the country. Land of Make Believe was the only park in New Jersey to get this designation.
