Big doings with the Musconetcong Watershed Association recently. On Feb. 29, at the MWA Annual Asbury Mill Dinner at Hawk Pointe Golf Club, NJDEP Commissioner Shawn LaTourette was presented with a check for the DEP to help remove the Warren Mill Dam, a project on the organization’s to-do list for some time but needs state support.

Later in evening the MWA recognized Chuck Gullage as the 2024 Friend of the Mill for his efforts on its behalf over the years. Also honored that night were MWA staff members Alan Hunt and Ryan Jiorle. A retrospective on the mill’s history was related by Rudy DiGilio, a former worker there, and Jean Mayberry, who was the Secretary and Treasurer for over 40 years for Asbury Graphite, later Asbury Carbons, who had owned the mill.
