New Look As Festival In Borough Preps For Sept. 19

The Festival in the Borough continues planning for Sept. 19, with a few changes from past years.

In an effort to spread out the event further than usual this year the Main Stage will be situated by the Washington Borough Fire Department on Belvidere Avenue. The firemen will once again host the beer garden by the Main Stage. Stages remain by Scotty’s Stadium Club and by Gaia’s Gifts and in addition, there will be “special guests” at the Pocket Park Stage.

The Festival in the Borough, presented by the Washington Business Improvement District, is celebrating its “Sweet Sixteen” in 2020.

A family-friendly free event with vendors, crafters, kids activities, food and three stages of music, this year’s event is being sponsored in part by Hunterdon Healthcare System, Visions Federal Credit Union, Elizabethtown Gas, Good Impressions Printing & Mailing, Swift Print Solutions, WRNJ, WXPN, and is also made possible by funds from the Warren County Cultural and Heritage Division of Land Preservation, a partner of the New Jersey State Council of the Arts. The event takes place throughout the Greater Downtown from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

What hasn’t changed this year is the music. There will be plenty of styles to choose from, including acoustic, rock, blues, and country.

Returning favorite Southbound will bring its southern rock tunes to the stage. The JerZgirls, the only musical act that has played at every Festival in the Borough, once again hits the Scotty’s Stage.

Other scheduled acts include the Katie Henry Band, Kinderhook, Flexible Flyers, Don Kincaid & The Wait, Diana Dove, Autumn Breeze with Laura Granzka & Brian Piper, Winterlong (Dave and Gift Venezio), TC Carpenter, Andy B.AND SoulFolk, and Avoiding Foreclosure (featuring Bob Del Elba & Ken Purcell). In all there will nearly 20 acts throughout the day.
