Oxford Central and Brass Castle Face Off in Archery Scrimmage

Oxford Central School and Brass Castle School (Washington Township School District) held their annual archery scrimmage recently at OCS. Participants of the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP), the OCS Archery Team (in yellow) and Brass Castle Archery Team will soon be headed to competition for the opportunity to represent New Jersey in the NASP National Championships in May. Oxford, currently coached by Rob Causton, is a nine-time N.J. State Champion, according to Bob Magnuson, Chief School Administrator. Brass Castle is coached by John Hornyak

NASP is a non-profit organization that promotes archery in the school system. Generally part of the physical education curriculum, NASP also encourages archery tie-ins to history, art, literature, and foreign language lessons.
