Reitemeyer, a WCCC grad, Named Chair of Trustees

Yvonne Reitemeyer was the first Warren County Community College graduate to become a member of the College’s Trustee Board. Now, she is the first graduate to be named the Chair of the Board of Trustees.

“I am honored to be able to continue the tremendous work that our former Chair Dr. Phil Linfante and the rest of this board has done over the past few years and look forward to the new ideas and programs that are yet to come,” said Reitemeyer.

Reitemeyer is joined on the Executive Board by Nancy Brown, Vice Chair, Betti Singh, Secretary, and Maria Maier, Treasurer.

The opportunity to lead the Trustee Board is something Reitemeyer is truly looking forward to.

“As the new Chair of the Board my priorities continue to be fully in line with President (Dr. Will) Austin and the rest of the trustee board,” she said. “Our top priority will always be how can we help our students achieve their goals?  Over the past several years, Warren has been in the forefront of such amazing achievements not just within New Jersey but nationally.  We have implemented some bold initiatives, including a few examples such as our deal with Cengage for all inclusive textbook costs, eliminating remedial classes, our world class drone program and our pathways program . All of these programs were for the benefit of our students, and that is why we are all here, for the students of Warren County Community College.”

Reitemeyer, who was originally appointed to the board by Governor Chris Christie in November of 2017, graduated from Warren in May of 2013 with an AS in Business Administration. Graduation came with a little competition, she says. “My daughter Veronica was finishing her bachelors degree at Monmouth University and my goal was to graduate before her. I beat her by two weeks!”

Reitemeyer has put that degree to good use.  She is currently a Financial Advisor with FRM Group Insurance and Financial Services located in Stroudsburg, PA.

Reitemeyer added, “When I first was asked to join the Board I did not know I was the first graduate to be named as a Trustee, and I am proud to hold that distinction. To be named as the Chair of this same board is truly an honor.”

The new Chair believes that Warren is in a very good place.

“I couldn’t be prouder of Warren County Community College,” she said. “We have a terrific relationship with our legislature and local government.  Our students are proud to attend and graduate from our school.  We are respected by our peers and serve as a model for other schools across the country how to truly put our students first. Our Nursing Program is the best in the state,  our drone program is amazing and nationally recognized, our enrollment is up, and we are the #1 community college in NJ with the highest graduation rate. The future is bright for our college and for our students.”

Reitemeyer grew up in Monmouth County where she graduated from Freehold Township High School. She and her husband Mark moved to Lopatcong Township in 2001. Her husband is a Marketing Manager with Verizon Wireless and they have two children – Veronica Sanders (married to Kevin) and Doug. Both graduated from Phillipsburg High School. She notes that Veronica is a video producer in Philadelphia and Doug is a Sophomore at Fairleigh Dickinson University studying Marketing.

“My family has always been very supportive of my interests and passion for community service and I am thankful for their support,” Reitemeyer said. “I look forward to serving now in the capacity as WCCC Board Chair and with the support of Dr. Austin and the rest of the Board I know that WCCC will continue to be a school that our students, faculty and community will be proud of.”
