Rutherfurd Hall’s March Event Includes Camp Registration, Paint with the Mayor

Rutherfurd Hall

March is a busy month at Rutherfurd Hall, the historic mansion in Allamuchy Township. Monthly events continue, including meditation, paint, and live music, and summer camp registration opens with an array of exciting day camp themes.

Kicking off this month’s events is the monthly Meditation with Jean Marie, Fostering the Journey, scheduled for Wednesday, March 13, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. An optional half-hour Gentle Yoga will proceed the class. Tickets are $15 for meditation and $7 for yoga.

Paint with the Mayor is a twist on Rutherfurd’s monthly paint night! Join Allamuchy Mayor Rick Lomonaco at the Adults Paint and (BYO) Wine Night on Thursday, March 14. Says the mayor, “If you have not had a good laugh in a while, this will cure you.” Find inspiration and creativity as you paint a cozy cabin in a meadow. All supplies and professional instruction will be provided. The event is $25 per person and runs 7-9 p.m.

Kids’ Paint Night will be 6:30-8 p.m. on the same evening, in a separate room. Painters of all ages and abilities are invited to paint a St. Patrick’s Snowman. Children 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Kids paint night is $20.

Celebrate St. Patty’s Day listening to jazz. The Jerry Weldon Quartet performs on Sunday, March 17. Headed by sax man Jerry Weldon, who has a resume that includes being lead saxophonist for Harry Connick, Jr., tickets for this talented group are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. The concert runs 3-5 p.m.

This month’s free lecture, Wednesday, March 27, will be led by Rutherfurd historian Joan Salvas. Every artifact holds a story, and Salvas will help unlock the stories of some of the mansion’s most interesting. Two sessions will be offered: 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sponsored by the Allamuchy Historical Society.

Registration is also now open for Summer Camps at Rutherfurd Hall! Themes include Harry Potter, Sports and Games, STEAM, Outdoor Survival, Boating Camp, and a special new camp designed for younger campers ages 6-9, Introduction to Outdoor Education. Space is limited. To register or for more information, visit www.rutherfurdhall.org.
