PACEs at PSS Senimar

Project Self-Sufficiency continues the workshop and discussion series “PACEs at PSS” on Monday, Jan. 24 with a virtual session at 5 p.m.

The series facilitates the conversation around Positive & Adverse Childhood Experiences (PACEs) with the Connections Matter curriculum, funded by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families and led by Prevent Child Abuse New Jersey. The curriculum teaches adults how to develop healthy brains and supportive relationships. It is designed to engage providers, parents, and community members in building caring connections to improve resiliency. The discussion focuses on understanding adverse childhood experiences and trauma and demonstrate how caring connections serve as a primary buffer in the negative effects of trauma. The training is appropriate for parents and providers raising and teaching school aged children.

During the periodic PACEs at PSS workshops, trauma experts and guest speakers address the impact of adverse childhood experiences on social, emotional, and cognitive development, and offer tips and strategies for building resiliency.

The Jan. 24 PACEs at PSS session will be held via Zoom. The program is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Call 973-940-3500 to register and receive log-in details.
