Warren Observes 9/11 At 15th Annual Patriot Day

The Warren County Emergency Services 9/11 Committee’s 15th Annual Patriot Day Observance was held at the Warren County Emergency Services and 9/11 Memorial this past Sunday, and hundreds of people turned out for this solemn event.

The ceremony honored all who perished in the terrorist attacks of 9/11/01 as well as Warren County Emergency Service personnel who have died in the line of duty.

The ceremony included a remembrance of the Warren County residents who died that day:

•           Deepa K. Pakkala, Greenwich Township – North Tower

•           Bruce A. Reynolds, Knowlton Township (Port Authority Patrolman and Knowlton Firefighter) – South Tower

•           Bruce E. Simmons, Hackettstown – South Tower

•           Robert C. Miller Jr., Belvidere – South Tower

Warren County Freeholder James R. Kern, III was keynote speaker for the ceremony, and was joined by numerous county and state officials, as well as first responders – fire, law enforcement and emergency medical service personnel from throughout Warren County.

The Memorial is located at 1500 State Highway 57, Washington, between the Warren County Technical School and the Warren County Community College. It is open to the public for viewing.
