Washington’s Police Chief Cicerelle Retires

Washington Police Chief Thomas Cicerelle has been a mainstay in the Washington community for over three decades.

After 34 years of service, Cicerelle, known for his leadership, fairness and good nature, recently announced his retirement from the force.

Cicerelle began his law enforcement career in Washington Township in 1987 and has dedicated himself to providing exceptional law enforcement services to the communities of Washington Township, Washington Borough, and Oxford Township.

Throughout his career, Chief Cicerelle held the ranks of sergeant, lieutenant, deputy chief, and served as the department K-9 officer. In addition to his countless department achievements, he was a member of the Warren County Tactical Response Team, Washington Township Office of Emergency Management Coordinator, and aided in the creation of the county wide active shooter response training.

His positive efforts did not go unnoticed throughout the community as he was always accessible.

Cicerelle wasn’t the only policeman in the area to retire recently. In Hackettstown, Sgt. David Garzon and Patrolman James Murtha also announced their retirements.
