Carbone, Goessling, Ginty Part Of NJArts Show

John Ginty – New Jersey’s king of the keyboards – and the Shockenaw Mountain Boys, featuring Tim Carbone and Andy Goessling, both with very strong ties to Northwest Jersey and members of Railroad Earth, are the co-headliners for a show highlighting NJArts.net on Sunday, March 18, at The Stanhope House.

The Porchistas, a six-piece band from Montclair, and The Outcrops, a quartet based in Sussex County and a fast rising group throughout the region, also are on the bill for the performance St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Tickets for the all-ages show are $20 in advance through http://stanhopehousenj.com and $25 day of show at the renowned venue, which is located at 45 Main St., Stanhope.  Doors open at 5 p.m., and the music starts at 6:30.

“One of the best things about this is that all the musicians are from New Jersey,” says Tom Skevin, producer of Jay’s Jersey Jams, Vol. 3. “Both the Shockenaw Mountain Boys and John Ginty are well-known in our state and beyond, and they always deliver outstanding sets. And anyone who has not yet heard The Porchistas or The Outcrops is in for a treat.”

This show is part of the Jay’s Jersey Jams series, with ticket proceeds going to NJArts.net – the web site run by longtime entertainment journalist Jay Lustig.

“We are always glad to support Jay Lustig, Tom Skevin and NJArts.net,” says Tim Carbone of Railroad Earth and the Shockenaw Mountain Boys. “It’s where I go first to find out all I need to know about what’s going on in the arts in N.J.”

With a break from their busy schedule with Railroad Earth, Carbone (violin, guitar, vocals), Andy Goessling (multi-instrumentalist, vocals) and John Skehan (mandolin) will be making a rare appearance as the Shockenaw Mountain Boys (pictured). Former RRE bassist Johnny Grubb rounds out the lineup.

Ginty, a Morristown native now based in Bernardsville, will be appearing as John Ginty and Friends. He tours with a band under his own name, appears regularly with the Dixie Chicks and is a founding member of the Robert Randolph and the Family Band.

The Porchistas, a “lyrically-driven porch rock band,” have released six recordings in eight years and have been featured in The Huffington Post, The Aquarian Weekly, NJArts.net and The Star-Ledger.

The Outcrops are a young, up-and-coming band that is making a name for itself by playing clubs and festivals in New Jersey. This roots-rock band is led by singer-songwriter-guitarist Cassidy Rain.

The show is sponsored by Lexpath Technologies, Big Jim’s Pizzeria in New Milford and Haledon, and John Brett.
