Canceled: Eating Right at Any Age

The House of the Good Shepherd strives to put the health of its residents and the community first. In light of reported cases of COVID-19, The House has decided to cancel the “It’s Never Too Late to Eat Great” event.

If you’re like many other older Americans, you often think that maybe it’s time to make healthier eating decisions. But, if you don’t know how to start, then an upcoming free program in Hackettstown may be just the first step you need.

On Wednesday, March 18, Shoprite of Mansfield and the House of the Good Shepherd in Hackettstown will present “It’s Never Too Late to Eat Great!” The presentation and interactive workshop will run 1-2:30 p.m. in the House’s Lodge, on the first floor of the retirement community’s main building.

Registered dietitian Julianna Gilleo will lead this wellness workshop catered specifically toward senior concerns. Not only will Gilleo address senior-centric health concerns through diet changes, but she will lead a virtual grocery store tour. Time will also be dedicated to answering questions that arise.

Registration is required to attend, but the session is completely free. To register, please call 908-684-5722. Please RSVP by March 13.

The House is located at 798 Willow Grove Street and offers public programming and an array of living options for seniors, from independent and assisted living to skilled nursing care. They also offer short term post-hospital stays, all in a beautiful setting along the bank of the Musconetcong River. For more about The House go to www.hotgs.org or LIKE its Facebook page.
