Indie Book Award Winner To Read at WCCC April 3

Theodora Bishop, winner of the 2018 Next Generation Indie Book Award, will be doing a special reading at Warren County Community College on Wed. April 3. 

The renowned WCCC Visiting Authors Series continues with this reading by the author, Theodora Bishop. The event, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in room 123A, is free and open to the public. It will be followed by a brief Q & A with the audience and a book signing. Books will be available for purchase at the reading.

Bishop is the author of the novella On the Rocks (Texas Review Press), winner of the Indie Book Award, and the short story chapbook Mother Tongues, winner of The Cupboard’s 2015 contest. Her poetry and short stories have appeared in Glimmer Train, Prairie Schooner, Arts & Letters, and Short Fiction (England), among other journals, anthologies, and exhibits. A Best New Poets and four-time Pushcart Prize nominee, Theodora Bishop holds an MFA from the University of Alabama and is pursuing her PhD in Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Houston. She serves as Poetry Editor for Gulf Coast, Fiction Editor for Big Fiction, and works as a part-time life care specialist at a memory care center in Houston.

The WCCC Visiting Authors Series is supported by a grant from the Warren County Cultural and Heritage Commission. All facilities comply with ADA regulations and are fully accessible. Sign language interpreters are available with two weeks’ notice.

Warren County Community College offers students the option of earning an Associate of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, the first and only degree of its kind in New Jersey and a member program of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP).
