Oxford School Plans Meetings in Advance of Referendum

The Oxford Central School District is inviting residents to attend one of four referendum information sessions. The special meetings, scheduled for January 8, 10, 14, and 16, are focused on educating Oxford residents about the January 22 referendum.

The district is seeking to undergo several building upgrades to improve safety, air and temperature quality, and other necessary infrastructure and building and site improvements. The projects would address security of the school including the entry vestibule, security of windows and doors, security cameras, air quality (HVAC) upgrades, stairwells, locker replacement, gym floor refinishing, site work, exterior masonry, fencing and more.

The referendum meetings will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Oxford Central School library. A tour of the school will also be available. Residents are encouraged to attend any one of the planned meetings. A newsletter will also be sent to the homes of Oxford’s registered voters detailing the project, costs, and FAQs.

Additional information, including brief videos, is also available on the district’s website, www.oxfordcentral.org. Residents who are unable to attend the referendum meetings are encouraged to visit the website for additional information or call the Chief School Administrator, Bob Magnuson at 908-453-4101.
