Rutherfurd Announces Spring & Summer Programming

Rutherfurd Hall

Rutherfurd Hall has announced two programs coming to the Allamuchy estate this spring and summer.

Lecture Series

Learn all about the Roosevelts and the Rutherfurds this spring when Rutherfurd Hall holds a five-part lecture series outside on the grounds of the historic mansion.

The series will begin Thursday, May 6, and run through June 3. Each lecture will take place on the Great Lawn and last about an hour, 5:30-6:30 p.m.

First in the series is “Sara, Eleanor and Anna, Roosevelt’s heart, head and hand.” The lecture will be led by Rutherfurd Hall historian Joan Salvas.

The series is $25 for all five lectures. In the case of inclement weather, lectures will be held the following Tuesday.

Summer Camps

Registration is also now open for the popular Rutherfurd Hall themed summer camps.

Returning for its 10th season due to high demand is two weeks’ worth of “Wizardry for Muggles: A Harry Potter Themed Camp.” The Tudor mansion will be turned into everyone’s favorite wizarding school, where campers will be sorted into houses, learn magic, play quidditch, and compete for the house cup.

Additional sessions centered around sports, games, and adventure. Sports and Games Camp will include classics like capture the flag and dodgeball to board and card games. Archery Camp will cover all aspects of Robin Hood’s favorite sport. Outdoor Adventure Camp includes wilderness survival skills, nature appreciation, and canoeing in Allamuchy Pond. Two Olympic-themed sessions will also be held, one for younger and one for older kids. Compete for the gold in Olympic games like soccer, volleyball, badminton, and canoeing.

Camps run July 5-30 with themes changing weekly. Space is limited.
