Summer Reading Program, Tails and Tales, Now Underway at Hacketttown Library and Includes Prizes

The summer reading program, Tails and Tales, is now underway at the Hacketttown Public Library.

The library is located at 110 Church Street, just off Main Street.

The reading program is for all ages. Kids track their reading time. Teens and adults get a raffle ticket for every book they read and a chance to win a prize, including an Echo Dot, $25 Amazon Gift Card, Yeti 20-oz tumbler and a Fire Stick.

Kids can also borrow a Maker Kit for seven days. Kits are non-renewable with overdue fess of $1 a day and must be returned at the front desk. Borrowers must have accounts in good standing. Replacement fees for damaged or missing items vary. If a particular item can’t be replaced, the patron is responsible for the full replacement cost.

Kits available to borrow are: Cat and Go Mouse, Snap Circuits Jr (ages 6 to 13), 3Doodles Pen (6 to 13), Gears, Gears, Gears (3 to 6), 3 Little Pigs Puzzle (2 to 5) and Mini-Art Lab.

Teens can play “Minute-to-Win-It” Games on Wednesdays from July 14 through Aug. 11 from 2 to 3 p.m. in the library parking lot, weather permitting. Register on the website, hackettstownlibrary.org or by calling 908-852-4936.

Game day for board games in the library is Friday, July 23 at 1 p.m. Registration on the website.

Knit Night for all ages is Tuesdays at 7 p.m., starting on July 6, from 7 to 8 p.m. Bring your own project. For further information, email mdavis@hackettstownlibrary.org.

The evening book club for adults will meet Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 6:30 p.m. The book is “The Vanishing Half” by Britt Bennett. Register on the website, www.hackettstownlibrary.org or by phone.
