Washington’s Hometown Holiday Always Special

Hometown Holiday in Washington Borough is always a special night. And without a doubt, this year will be no different when Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive on a fire truck for an evening of free family fun.

This year’s festive evening in Downtown Washington takes place on Friday,  Dec. 2nd from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with DJ Brian kicking things off with an array of holiday tunes. The annual WBID Tree Lighting ceremony with Santa Claus is set for Veterans Park in the center of the Downtown at approximately 6 p.m., following the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus at about 5:45.

This event, presented by Printabilities, Buttzville Brewing Company, Swift Print Solutions, David Santini, CPA, Shembre & Gannon CPA, DM Solutions, West Washington Dentistry, Home Instead Senior Care, Warren Hills Memorial Home and the Washington Business Improvement District, includes many activities, something for everyone.

In addition to the tree lighting, there will be meet-and-greet photo opportunities (bring your cameras!) with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus at Kids R People 2 shortly after the tree lighting, Santa’s elves, and other seasonal characters including a host of “Dickens” special guests. There will be other activities throughout as well.

While supplies last, children visiting Santa will receive a specially made coloring book.

The night will also have free horse and carriage rides (weather permitting) from 6-8 p.m.

Among the other special activities planned that night are performances by the Little Brass Band of Lehigh Valley from 5:30-8 p.m., and the Warren County Community Singers, and free kids’ make and take crafts by Dove Environmental Education at Kathy’s Kove & Kafe.

The Washington BID, host of the festivities, also thanks these additional sponsors: New Jersey American Water, Kidz R People 2, JCP&L, Stews Auto Body, WRNJ Radio, Sunshine Tree Service, Smith Tractor. Washington Borough, Warren County Clean Communities, and the Washington Borough Volunteer Fire Department.
