WH Coders Compete in Cybersecurity Challenge

The 2018 Warren Hills GirlsGo Cyber Team

Fifty-seven girls from Warren Hills Regional High School recently took part in the first round of the GirlsGo CyberStart cybersecurity competition, earning $875 toward STEM programming at the school. Known for its Girls Coding with Girls program, Warren Hills helps empower girls to succeed in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) fields, in which women are underrepresented.

According to GirlsGo Cyberstart, “There’s a huge shortage of cybersecurity experts in the US. Girls Go CyberStart encourages high school girls to explore the exciting career opportunities in the field, join the global cybersecurity community and learn skills that will ensure our country offers a safe place to live, work and play online.”

Warren Hills tied for the most participants within a single school in New Jersey. There were a total of 1,154 participants in the state and 11,330 nationwide.
