Foodshed Alliance Gala Supports Farms, Food, More

The Foodshed Alliance’s annual gala on will be Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m. at Perona Farms in Andover.

The gala supports the Alliance’s work to strengthen sustainable farming, increase access to local, healthy food, and protect the environment in Northwest New Jersey. It will feature 16 tasting stations of appetizers, main courses and desserts created with local ingredients prepared before gala guests by 18 of the region’s finest chefs, who will entertain and inform with cooking techniques and tips.

Chefs include: Mike Carrino, Essex Country Club; Bianca Concepcion and Jeffery Galan, Fossil Farms; Cesare De Chellis, B2 Bistro; Jen DeChristopher, DeChristopher Cakes; Andre and Tracey deWaal, Andre’s Lakeside Dining; Jessica Geanoules, Camp Nejeda Foundation; Bryann Gregg, Blue Morel and Westin Governor Morris; Jake Hunt, Windy Brow Farms; Martin Kester, Sussex County Community College; Delaney Koch, Cranky Noodles; George Mandakas, NYU Langone Health; Salvatore Pisani, Jersey Girl Cheese; Dan Rothman, The Butcher’s Daughter; John Sauchelli, Jersey Barnfire Hot Sauce, LLC; Ben Walmer, Broadloom and Highlands Dinner Club, and Florian Wehrli, Perona Farms.

The open bar features locally made spirits, wines, beers, ciders, and more. Live music will be provided by Maribyrd, Pete Lister, and Mike Alexander.

Proceeds support the Foodshed Alliance’s work connecting food, farms and the environment to rebuild our local food economy. Tickets are $150 per person, 80% of which is tax deductible.
